Faith which does not doubt is dead faith.

-Miguel de Unamuno, philosopher and writer (1864-1936)

I need someone to protect me
from all the measures they take
in order to protect me.

-Banksy, street artist (b. 1974)

Do you wish to rise?
Begin by descending.
You plan a tower that will pierce the clouds?
Lay first the foundation of humility.

-St. Augustine (354-430)

I love those. The first one seems like a contradiction until you really think about it. People who blindly accept everything without questions aren't disciples of a faith, but mindless slaves.

The other one about being saved from the measures meant to protect us...I've long been suspicious of restrictions the government imposes for our own "good."

Good post, Roland. Hope you are well.
