Who is called?

It is said, The only way someone "wants" to be in the presence of the Lord is if the Lord draws them. (John 6:44)

It is also said, He allows us to have free will and invites us to seek Him (Matthew 7:7)

It is also said, I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners. (Matthew 9:13)

Since God calls sinners,
who is a sinner and who is righteous?

Born a sinner.

Dangit :(

Then you've been called WW.
Not a 'dangit', but a 'Congrats'

Pablo said...

"For many are invited, but few are chosen."
Matthew 22:14

All sinners are invited but few actually answer the call to God's lordship in their lives. That's my two cents...

And you know, when I struggle with sin, that's the part that makes me want to quit out of despair :(

I know Pablo.
But should we encourage people to go answer the call or tell them they shouldn't even bother?
Do you know which ones have answered?
Do you know which ones didn't?
Are you sure???

Mike, God know we fail. He wants us to succeed.
Do you think God gave up on Samson? Gotta admit that he had a lot of potential. But even thought he wasn't the 'best', God stayed with him and didn't give up on him.
Do you think God gave up on Paul? Even after conversion Paul admitted to struggles. He never said he won them all either. Paul knew that his standing with Christ was not in question. He was promised an eternal reward. He did know that there would be consequences for things. One can either go on, or quit. Keep plugging away. Jesus is always right there with you. He promised.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Being able to admit being a sinner is getting far closer to God than someone who thinks they are doing well.

Born a sinner, and one still. I love Christ with all that I am, as imperfect as that is..

God doesn't necessarily call the qualified, but He does qualify the called.
We're all sinners, we're all called.
